Jelletta K. Turner King Community Impact Scholarship

Jelletta K. Turner King is a lifelong educator, mentor, and community leader whose work has impacted generations of students, educators, and families in Dallas, Texas.
She holds a Master of Education from Dallas Baptist University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Arlington. During her distinguished career with Dallas ISD, she served as a teacher, English Department Chair, dean of instruction, assistant principal, and principal. She later continued her commitment to education as an Alternative Certification Field Supervisor with Inspire Texas at Region 4 Education Service Center, mentoring and preparing future educators.
Mrs. King has received numerous honors, including Outstanding Administrator’s Appreciation Award, Teacher of the Year, and recognition in Who’s Who Among American Teachers. She has also led professional workshops focused on leadership, student success, and parent engagement.
In addition to her professional work, Mrs. King is dedicated to community service. She serves on the Board of By The Hands Club for Kids and the Community Development Corporation at Watermark South Dallas, supporting initiatives that strengthen families and communities.
Mrs. King and her husband, Fredrick B. King, have been married for 40 years and are proud parents of three children and three grandchildren.
